Went to see Floetry / Talib Kweli / Gangstarr / and Common last night at M with cubbie. I was really there to see Gangstarr, but I must say that I was in for a pleasant surprise.

Floetry was the first up. I knew who they were, but they looked very different. I guess it was the way they were dressed... Their band had a Korg Triton... *DROOL* They were good, but didn't really grab me, tho. Talib Kweli sounded much better live, so that was kinda unexpected. I was never a Talib fan, so it did provide a fresh perspective... Not much surprise with Gangstarr, it was certainly good to hear them perform, but it really didn't register as something that was all that great to see live. By that I mean I felt as if I'd have felt pretty much the same even if I were to have stayed home and listened to my own "Best of Gangstarr" compilation CD. But Common... oh my god... I totally fell in love with that guy. His stage presence, his stage manners, his rhymes and the band's performance was just top notch... Their live session was very well thought out as far as transitions and the overall thematic closure is concerned. The tracks of Electric Circus heard live just totally made my night! He's one helluva guy to see live! Highly recommended!!

Hyung, my bad I couldn’t go. I’m really really sorry. I was too drunk to even move myself. I’m really sorry again. (587)
