Last night we had our (was it the 3rd? 4th?) "Corona Night". What is "Corona Night"? Well, it's just a night where we stay home to drink corona and whatever snack we can cook up while chatting the night away. ^^ Last night's special was chef Slim's special Sausage bagel with a side of meat balls. I think it was pretty good. ;) Cubbie gave me a tip about putting ketchup in the bagel with the sausage for a better taste. So I'm sticking with ketchup inside the bagel instead of cream cheese which I originally used. :) Oh, speaking of new items that have been added to my menu, Pei has graciously passed down his family recipe which I like to call "Shitaki Hen Soup". It's really easy to make, and it's really good, too! What more can I ask for? So I'm sharing the recipe with the rest of you guys (I'm sure Pei won't mind) Ingredients
What was even more awesome was what happened the day after we ate the shitaki hen soup, tho! Cubbie told me to preserve the soup ( I was gonna just throw it away ), and what she did was she added some scallions to it after getting rid of all the floating solid fat from the soup the following evening... OMG the soup was even more excellent!! Dang... I really don't have any cooking basics. ^^; So you guys take note of cubbie's lil tip about de-fatty-ing and putting some scallions when reheating the soup. ;) Yum yum! |
