So while I was doing some cleaning up last night till the wee wee hours, I stumbled up on the The John Walsh Show... I dunno about you, but I think the show was extremely skewed and opinionated... Is this supposed to be like a Jenny Jones type show, but with writers that read about current events??

So they were discussing the U.S. and its intention to go to war. More specifically they were talking about how parents should talk to their kids about the issue... They made it look like they were gonna discuss this at a broader level as in how to talk to your kids about tough topics... Ok, the topic is fine... But, it left a bad taste in my mouth as the end of the show drew near and the impression that the kids were getting was basically if the U.S. needs to go to war with Iraq they should. That's such an ambiguous conclusion that I'm afraid kids are gonna be totally mislead... He needs to learn a thing or two... no, make that a million from Mr. Rogers (R.I.P) if he dares to bring kids to the show again... *SIGH*

Wow, a pleasant surprise awaiting at my doorsteps when I got home today. One of my very good friend Jiwon had sent me a box of ginseng chocolate... Must have been cuz of the conversation I had with her about how down I was during the whole Lunar Gala production period. Man, totally made my day! I miss you so much friend!

Here's another thing that made my day more interesting.. An article about this new public toilet that resides in south side... I should really pay it a visit one of these days...

Yesterday I finally hit the slopes! It was quite icey up at the top, but once you got down a lil bit, there was a lot of powder! Hopefully it'll be better groomed by the next time we get there. We'll def be hitting it up again this weekend. ;)

Got so much reading to do this week... o_0; *CRAZY* Hopefully I'll be all caught up by Friday so I can spend a more relaxing weekend... Not to mention ANOTHER snowboarding session!! Woo-hoo!

Just got back from watching The Recruit... Eh... It was ok... I won't tell you to go see it. Colin doesn't look as good as he did in the Minority Report, either. Of course Al Pacino's acting was very good... But, it couldn't really bring the mediocre plot to life... What I really want to watch now is The Life of David Gale, The Hours and The Pianist... But those I can watch on DVD and it won't really make much difference. Hmm... I suppose when movies like Old School come out on DVD, I'll rent it as well... It does look hilarious, just not worth $8.

I'm itching again... The itch has returned... Is this the infamous 7 year itch? This is the longest I've ever lived in one place... I'm so ready to move... When I move, I don't move to another city... I usually move to a whole new country... Right now if luck would have it I would like to somehow move to Japan... I've long wanted to experience the most technologically advanced Asian country first-hand... Sure, it may be crazy expensive to live there, that's why I have to plan this one really well... At the same time, I question how well received a Korean dude will be in Japan... Hmmm... How about Europe?...UK sounds kinda cool... Great music scene, they say... I hear the food and the weather suck, tho... If I were to stay in the U.S., my definite dream relocation would be the bay area... I just love that place... Tops all other cities I've been to in the states.

I guess the bottom line is that I feel somewhat trapped... My mind flashes a red "change in scenary required" alert... Well, no plans just yet... I just want to move... I'm just not the type of person who can settle down... At leat not just yet...

So the snow storm was indeed record breaking (Well, I don't think it really broke any records, but it certainly is going to be part of a record)... Apparently Eskimos call this "Muraneq". They say this is the most snow since 1993... I suppose I should be happy to be part of history? :) 7 Springs Ski Resort has 40 inches of snow, and they say thanks to this they'll most likely have snow into April!!! People are just hoping that it doesn't melt too quickly to avoid further casualties from mother nature. *SIGH* The two-faced nature of this is quite difficult to swallow... I guess anything extreme usually comes with a side effect...

Well, so here I am trying to take this snowy day to just relax and reflect. I'm in that stage where my body tells me I'm not all that tired, but my mind tells me that I really need to wipe everything out of my head and just vegitate for awhile. Have so much to do, tho. At least Cubbie treated me to some good seasoned beef intestine casserole at Korea Garden. Awesome dish! Thank you!! :) Hopefully I'll be able to fully recover throughout the week so I can hit the slopes on Saturday.

Thanks to Darren, Cubbie and I got to see "Hero" tonight. The visuals were simply stunning!! Vivrant colors were used throughout, and they were there to serve a purpose as well. Yes there may have been a bit too many piano wires used in the movie, but it wasn't as much as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Many seem to think that the cinematography rivals that of "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". That's pretty darn good. :) I like the visuals of "Hero" simply because they portray a lot more emotion to me... They're also eye-dropping gorgeous, really... The martial arts sequences were, without a doubt, breath-taking... I never thought a spear could be manipulated in such a fluid way... I personally think if you walked out of the theatre asking yourself "Who is the true hero? What does it mean to be a hero?" with the appreciation for the beautiful cinematography done by Christopher Doyle, Yimou Zhang will probably be more than pleased.

By the time we were done watching the movie everything was covered in snow!!! Man, It is snowing so much out there it's not even funny.. There's so much snow piled up on the streets already, but the threre's no sign of any mercy from the snow gods for it seems rather unlikely that it's gonna stop snowing anytime soon. Insane, really..

UPDATE: [4:08AM]: All universities in pittsburgh has shut down due to winter snowstorm

Why do people consider Valentine's day so special? I mean,do you REALLY need a calendar and a slew of TV commercials to remind you that you should show how much you appreciate your partner in crime? If your answer to that is "YES", then I guess I'm at a loss. I just think show of appreciation, love, and friendship should be portrayed whenever you think they should be shown, not when Hallmark Central Broadcast Station tells you to.. -.-;;

I think being able to say the right thing at the right time is a skill that is valued greatly... Those who posses the skill tend to be able to make other people feel really good. I suppose it's soothing to the ears, comforting to the mind and reassuring to the heart... I try very hard to mimc such an ability, but usually end up failing miserably... I think I'll just be happy if I don't say the wrong thing at the wrong time... Cuz, when people say the wrong thing at the wrong time to me... Man... It can really hurt... I'd pick the "not-getting-hurt" type o' life than one where I can receive constant encouragements...

I have to admit that eversince I had graduated I've been unconsciously avoiding all the issues that I had actively thought about while I was the president of KSA back at CMU... Issues surounding identity crisis, Asian heritage, conflicts between "F.O.B.s" and American Born Asians, etc.. (I can't even really name them all anymore...) The fact that I was avoiding all this became clear as I heard the news about how there is an Asian Heritage Week @ CMU. Apparently it was first organized last year, but due to the lack of publicity and less-than-effective organization on the part of Student Affairs, it became a rather low-key event that just kinda flew by... This year bunch of Asian student organizations and Asian interest fraternities are involved in trying to make it a memorable one. The reason why this made me realize that I was trying not to think about Asian-related issues was that the moment I heard about the news I started to think about Asian-related issues... and it started to hurt my head... -.-;;; It's very hard for me to say from a distance what is really going on at my alma matar, so I opt to put on my naive kid's hat and assume that these events are signs of improvement over all issues surrouning Asians on campus...

Autoweek has a nice article on the major recall VW had made earlier last week on VW/Audi vehicles sporting the Turbocharged inline 4 cylinder 1.8L engines (yeah, that's my Bora's engine). I can't say that I'm surprised at VW for waiting so long until a recall... Remember it took Audi 200+ accidents and 2 lives before they did a recall on Audi TT's? I can only hope nobody got into an accident on the highway with a faulty coil pack. Phew~

Went to Outback Steakhouse in Monroeville with cubbie... uhm... I guess it's already "last night". Haven't had steak that good in such a long time. Only if the Caesar Salad weren't so salty... heh heh. My 14lbs medium rare rib-eye was really excellent, tho. It was just really good to have taken a lil bit of time off and dined out with Cubbie in the midst of all this craze. :) I promise you we'll spend time much more often after Lunar Gala. Hang in there just a lil bit longer for moi. ;)

Man, I've not seen Cubbie for like a week... It's always like this during lunar gala, and I know it ain't easy for her. This year is actually much much better than ever before although it's the most time I've ever spent on the production of the tracks... I must say there were hard times, and I should credit Cubbie to the fullest for her understanding... But, even if I were the girlfriend of a guy who puts himself in his studio and never comes out until he finishes mixing I'd be angry... :) There goes my chance of EVER getting married~~~ HA HA HA! ... Miss you lots, hyun ah!! :)

Man, call me naive, but all I want to do most of the time is enjoy everything that I do, and everything that happens around me... and then I want to do what I can to help other people find joy in their lives as well... other than that I really haven't got a clue as to why I live day in and day out... So more recently I've reraised the burning question I had in my head since long time ago... to which I believe I have an intermediate answer for.

Q: How do I know if what makes me happy now is not going to eventually make me sad? How about if I look back at my life in my death bed and regret that I've wasted my time doing all those stuff?

A: It doesn't matter. As long as I enjoyed it at that moment in time and I had done my very best to get the most out of it, I can confidently say that I will never regret having spent my precious time on it, ever.

Life is GREAT!
