| Got a glimpse at the Shure Turntablism 101 video featurng some peeps from the beat junkies and x-ecutioners (among others of course)... It was pretty cool in the sense that I got a little more insight into what those DJs were thinking when they were coming up with routines, but not much more than that... the tape is about beat juggling mostly.. it covers some basics and some intermediate stuff, and the advanced concepts are kinda introduced and shown but not exactly explained. If you think about it, beat juggling is more about how you lay the beats out than how you manipulate the records... so I guess your creativity is supposed to fill in the gaps. =) Check it out, it's worth your time, but don't expect a "mastering beat juggling in 24 hours" type of content. |
