I've been really bad at keeping a log of what's going on with me musically. I must admit that my other alter egos have occupied me more than I thought it would for the past few months. I think it mostly started off with my trip back home (2nd home) in early May. Lots of small personal things have been keeping my junk-filled brain bursting out with even more junk, and on top of that I'm in the midst of hustling to get some of geeky research stuff out into the world as well. But rest assured, that doesn't mean I'm totally neglecting my musical side. ;)

So exactly what have I been doing musically, you may ask? Well, I've been diligently trying my best to record various interesting soundbites from everyday life with my trusty iFP-799, and I'm still taking courses at Berklee's online joint (it's my 5th semester already!) I've also spotted a couple interesting remix contests that I'm entertaining the idea of submitting tracks to. The first is the Morel contest at acidplanet and the second is the Magnatune project at CCmixter. The Morel project is interesting because I listened to the original and I liked the track's atmosphere, and the Magnatune project is interesting because they're providing a shit load of samples to work with. Of course, that could be both a curse and a blessing to have so much material to work with. As of now I'm completely swamped with my Berklee course schedule, so I don't know what will happen, but I'm going to try my best to put something together. Ah, and of course I need to find some dedicated time to finish mixing the recordings I did with a few friends last semester. I'm such a slacker!!!

Ooh! Ooh! By the way, I'm also seriously thinking about getting the trigger finger control surface to augment my DR-660 as its virtual counter part. I think the trigger finger kicks MPD-16's can-we-say-outdated ass out the door... Thoughts? =P
