You see those names on the right hand side under "Inspirations"? You see DJ Krush there? I just shook hands with the guy tonight!!! Man! The concert was filled with inspiration. We stuck around for about 40 minutes after the show and he finally came out and met with the fans who stuck around for that long. He's very petite and definitely doesn't scream "I'm a DJ". Yet the music he produces is so powerful and mesmerizing. Rather interesting mix, I must say. It wasn't a particularly visual performance, so if you want a lot of "jazz", then his gigs are probably not for you. It's all about the sound, and if that's what you're after then you'll be more than satisfied. Mr. Small's was a decent venue, too. They could have used a lil less treble, but other than that, not too shabby. To think that the master beatmaker himself came all the way to this the city where Trip Hop is most definitely a minority genre... I guess I really should have asked him what makes him visit Pittsburgh... Not that I'm complaining, of course! :)
