AHH! I hate this... I remember when my xfader knob went flying away from my mixer the last time I was using my now-forgotten mixer DJM500... The same thing has happend to my new mixer DJM600... this damn mixer doesn't even have the sharp cut I need yet it's knob breaks off ... dammit... I swear I'll buy the stanton mixer this Christmas... gotta get my receipt out and get a new knob on warranty.

urgh.. it looks like I won't be buying any new skratch mixers anytime soon... I'm going to save up money for the damn plane fare... forget about that.... ahhhhh!!

so I'm debating how I should use a little money that I have saved up.. I could see if I can buy 2 hard cases for my TTs... or I could buy a scratch mixer in addition to the full size mixer I have now.... urgh... dillema...

Alright... I'm pretty impressed with the CDJ-1000. Looking at the demo reel, it seems to live up to the hype (do much much more than what's out there, but not enough to replace the TTs. You be the judge!!

okay.. it's that time of the year.. post-final-scheduling time. =) This is when I set all these lofty goals and then never get around to doing them all.. heh heh.. well, so on this side of my world here is my goal ( to be completed by the end of August )

  1. finish my very first full-set routine ( possible show case @ LG2002 ).
  2. save up money for a scratch mixer (stanton?)
  3. finish my mix tape vol 5.
Hey, that's not too bad. ;)

Got a glimpse at the Shure Turntablism 101 video featurng some peeps from the beat junkies and x-ecutioners (among others of course)... It was pretty cool in the sense that I got a little more insight into what those DJs were thinking when they were coming up with routines, but not much more than that... the tape is about beat juggling mostly.. it covers some basics and some intermediate stuff, and the advanced concepts are kinda introduced and shown but not exactly explained. If you think about it, beat juggling is more about how you lay the beats out than how you manipulate the records... so I guess your creativity is supposed to fill in the gaps. =) Check it out, it's worth your time, but don't expect a "mastering beat juggling in 24 hours" type of content.
